Community technology advisory commission
The St. Louis Park Community Technology Advisory Commission is meeting in person in the
community room on the first floor of St. Louis Park City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Blvd . Members
of the public may attend the meeting in person.

Community technology advisory commission
Members present: Rudyard Dyer, Cindy Hoffman, Drew Keogh, Michael Siegler
Members absent: Konnor Slaats, Kelly Heitz, Rolf Peterson
Staff present: Jacque Smith, John McHugh
Guests: None
1. Call to order – roll call
Meeting called to order at 6:01 p.m. Konnor Slaats absent.
2. Presentation from Emily Ziring
Ziring presented the various efforts being made to involve residents in taking action on climate
change. Siegler asked how the commission can help. Keogh suggested it’s awareness so
residents know the programs are available, such as rebates . Siegler said the commission may
also be able to generate new ideas , such as reducing garbage truck traffic – can we put garbage
in a central location – how do we change our historic behavior? Ziring said the commission can
help by promoting new technologies like heat pu mps, which the city will be promoting in the
coming months.
3. Approval of minutes – July 21, 2022
Dyer moved, Siegler seconded, all approved the minutes as written.

5. Staff updates
Smith thanked the commission for providing feedback on a proposed Hennepin County
broadband expansion grant fund . More updates will be provided as they are available.
Smith said US Internet is continuing to work in the city. They have been asked to refine their
2023 map to make it more accurate for potential customers interested in the service. She asked
commission members to send any concerns they hear from residents about US Internet work to
her or to the city’s engineering department. Overall US Internet has been working hard to make
people happy and ensure restoration of right of way takes place. Smith would like the
commission to share any other feedback they hear a bout US Internet.
Smith said the city’s police chief has announced his retirement effective Dec. 16 . She
encouraged the commission to take an online survey asking what residents would like to see in
the next police chief.
6. Adjournment -Keogh moved, Siegler seconded a motion to adjourn. All voted in favor. Meeting
adjourned 6:44 p.m. Next meeting is Nov. 17, 2022.
