Call to order: 7:05pm 2. Roll call: Commissioner Kinney, Commissioner Christenson, Commissioner Gamradt, Commissioner Morgan, Commissioner Bodin, Commissioner Tousignant, Commissioner McDaniel, Commissioner Noble, Lt Garland, Commissioner Slais 3. Approval of agenda a. Motion: Commissioner Tousignant, Commissioner McDaniel b. Motion Approved 4. Approval of last meeting’s minutes – (Wed 8-3-22, 7pm) a. Motion: Commissioner Morgan, Commissioner Noble b. Motion Approved 5. Reports from Officers (If any) - none 6. Discussion of alternative meeting nights (Chair Kinney) a. Will revisit next summer, staying as is for now 7. Updates from subcommittees/task forces a. Connecting with other cities’ PACs and related groups i. Update from subcommittee (Commissioner Morgan) and discussion ii. Commissioners Morgan, Tousignant, Slais (Subcommittee members) iii. No updates at this time b. Public safety data collection/surveys i. Commissioners Kinney, Slais, McDaniel, Tousignant (Subcommittee members) ii. Survey provider suggestions from Police Dept./City Mgr. For PAC discussion iii. Reached out to a full-service third party to facilitate as a possible option. Subcommittee to reach out for demo. iv. App based option, put on business cards, patrol cars v. Lt Garland will let Chief Harcey know we are interested but want to keep it population based 8. Police Accountability/MJRC report/POST Board a. Information about POST Board and PD Interaction (Lt Garland) b. Plan for presentation by POST Exec. Dir. Misselt at 11-2-22 meeting and updated location (SLP Rec. Center 2nd Fl. Banquet Rm.) i. Extended invitations to the HRC and PMAC ii. PAC would like info on the following topics: Overview of what the POST Board does and who they are, their goals/mission, community feedback from report that came out, what changes they’re moving ahead with/next steps, rule maker or guidance, their role in data collection iii. SLP Police Department’s interaction with the POST board is infrequent iv. Discussed the role they have in disciplinary matters v. Supplies changes to the model policy which is sent out to the officers 9. PAC Brochure Discussion a. Will be worked on by the subcommittee and will provide direction for city resources 10. Police Dept. Updates and Crime Info (Lt. Garland) a. Social worker referrals are similar to last month b. 3500 calls for service, 32 auto thefts, 213 traffic stops, 27 mental health calls, 627 reports, 14 burglaries, 23 domestics, 1 biased motivated crime c. Chief Harcey is retiring in December d. Shared officer training updates across the department e. Working with Knollwood stores for theft enforcement 11. Old business a. Should hear back by end of year regarding the grant award the PAC supported 12. New business a. Commissioner Morgan shared his ride along experience b. Lt Garland will ask to have the training Sergeant speak to us about trainings efforts at a future PAC meeting c. Suicide prevention awareness month – suggestions for how to promote, app for public to use in a mental health situation, 988 crisis line i. The Outreach subcommittee to come back to Lt Garland if there is interest in joining these efforts 13. Announcements (If any) - None 14. Adjournment: 8:43pm a.
