Call to order 7:03pm by Commissioner Slais 2. Roll call a. Present: Commissioners Slais, Williams, Gamradt, Tousignant, Eugene, Noble b. Absent: Commissioner Morgan 3. Welcome guests/observers a. SLP PD Behavioral Health Ofc. Lewis was welcomed. 4. Approval of agenda- Moved by Comm Tousignant, Seconded Comm Eugene. Vote passed. 5. Approval of last meeting’s minutes – (Wed. 2-7-24, 7pm) Moved by Comm Noble, Seconded Comm Tousignant. Vote passed. 6. Officer elections (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary) a. Nominations, voting i. Nomination made for Chair for Commissioner Eugene ii. Vice Chair, Nomination for Commissioner Slais iii. Secy., Nomination for Commissioner Tousignant b. Voice vote for election of all nominees, Moved Williams/Seconded Noble. Nominated officers were elected. 7. Announcements from officers or staff liaison a. Lt. Garland briefly discussed Dept. plans for a facility/space study being undertaken by the police department this year 8. Discussion of 3-4-24 City Council workshop and 3-25-24 study session on revisioning of advisory boards and commissions 9. Support/acknowledgment for Burnsville Police/Fire Depts. a. Discussion of 4-21-24 Prior Lake fundraiser b. Lt Garland offered a basic draft letter of support, read, and approved for sending by the staff liaison on behalf of the commission. 10. Updates from subcommittees/task forces a. Outreach and community mental health support objectives i. Request for info on block captains, neighborhood leaders, number/contacts, etc. Staff liaison will request from outreach section staff. ii. The group heard a presentation from Behavioral Health Officer Lewis b. By-laws and annual report i. Discussion of by-laws update was tabled for the May 2024 meeting Police advisory commission meeting October 5, 2022 11. Approval of 2023 annual report- Moved by Comm. Tousignant, Seconded Comm. Slais. Vote to submit annual report passed. Staff liaison will forward to the Chief. 12. Crime Info, Dept Info/Updates (Lt Garland, time permitting) a.
