Call to order 7:04pm (Chair Morgan) 2. Roll call a. Members present: Slais, Gamradt, Tousignant, Noble, Morgan b. Absent: Williams, Eugene 3. Welcome guests/observers (if any) a. Community member Wilsey 4. Approval of agenda a. Moved- Gamradt, 2nd- Tousignant 5. Approval of last meeting’s minutes – (Wed 11-1-23, 7pm) a. Moved- Tousignant, 2nd- Gamradt 6. Announcements from officers or staff liaison (if any) a. The group had discussion on upcoming meetings involving the city council and input on boards and commissions revisioning. Study session or workshop planned for early March. 7. Discussion of goals/projects for 2024 a. Involvement/assistance with PD youth mental health outreach (Tousignant) b. Lt Garland gave info on examples of police-community collaborations to impact mental health efforts in the community 8. Updates from subcommittees/task forces a. Commissioners approved the creation of two task forces to work on ongoing updates to the by-laws/2023 annual report (Morgan, Williams, Eugene, Noble) and collaboration with PD on community mental health (Tousignant, Gamradt, Slais) i. Moved- Morgan, 2nd Tousignant b. Officer elections will be placed on agenda for March 2024 meeting 9. Crime Info, Dept Info/Updates (Lt Garland) a. Updated info on work of Juvenile Response Officers was provided to the group b. Bias crime info, 2023 summary/highlights i. Lt Garland noted that citations issued were up significantly from same period in 2023, 3990 calls for service, 142 behavioral health calls, 623 reports for the month, increase in crimes/arrests involving firearms. Summary was also provided about the frequency of potential bias motivated crimes/incidents. 10. Old business Police advisory commission meeting October 5, 2022 11. New business 12.
