MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners David Gorski, Commissioner Catherine Courtney, Commissioner Paul Beck, Commissioner Richard Webb MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Catherine Johnson STAFF PRESENT: Marney Olson, Michele Schnitker, Amy Fokuo 1. Call to Order – The meeting was called to order at 5:06 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes – Minutes approved for the November 8, 2017 Housing Authority Board meeting. Motion to approve made by Commissioner Webb and seconded by Commissioner Beck. Motion passed 4 - 0 3. Hearings – None 4. Presentation - None 5. Unfinished Business – None 6. New Business Public Housing Insurance Award – Ms. Olson reviewed the insurance proposal and outlined the bid from State Farm. State Farm is the HA’s current insurance carrier and staff stated that they have been satisfied with the service. The bid for insurance coverage for 2018 was accepted. Approval of Amendment to TRAILS Contract with Avivo– Ms. Schnitker reviewed the TRAILS 2018 contract with Avivo (previously Resource Inc.). The Housing Authority recommended that the board approve the 2018 TRAILS Contract Amendment for coordinator services effective 1/1/2018 through 12/31/2018. Motion to approve made by Commissioner Webb and seconded by Commissioner Gorski. Motion passed 4-0. Board of Commissioners Annual Meeting with Council– Ms. Schnitker reviewed the purpose of the Board and Commission Annual Meeting with Council. She also went over the schedule and asked if a board member would be available to present the HA’s accomplishments at the council meeting. It was noted that the draft 2017 annual report for the HA would be presented at the February HA Board meeting. Commissioner Gorski said that he would be available to present our Housing Authority Report. NOAH Preservation Workgroup: Update Ms. Schnitker provided the board with an overview of the NOAH Preservation strategies being considered by the council. Ms. Schnitker also reviewed the strategies being proposed by the NOAH Preservation Workgroup convened by the city. The workgroup has representatives from the St. Louis Park rental community and representatives from the affordable housing advocates. 7. Adjournment Commissioner Webb moved to adjourn the meeting, and Commissioner Beck seconded; the motion passed 4-0.
