LOUIS PARK —AUGUST 8, 2017 MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ELECTION WHEREAS, pursuant to City Charter Section 4.08, the City Council shall meet and canvass election returns within seven days of any election and shall declare the results as soon as possible; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 205.065 sub. 5 states the canvassing of municipal primary election results may be conducted on either the second or third day after the primary; and WHEREAS, the results prepared and certified to by the election judges have been presented in summary form to the City Council for inspection, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows: 1. The August 8, 2017 election returns having been canvassed, the votes received by each candidate for city offices are as follows: Councilmember Ward One 11 Candidate Total Votes Brian Shekleton 273 Steve Kaplan 20 Margaret Rog 459 Zaylore Stout 210 2. The number of spoiled ballots, the number of persons registered prior to the election and on Election Day, the number of voter receipts, the number of absentee ballots, and the total member of good votes cast in the city are as follows: SPOILED BALLOTS 11 REGISTERED AT 7 A.M. 7,665 REGISTERED AT THE POLLS 13 TOTAL REGISTERED VOTERS 7,678 VOTER RECEIPTS 789 ABSENTEE BALLOTS 174 TOTAL VOTERS 963 (Percent Voting) 12.5% Resolution No. 17-120 3.
