Monson – wants to ensure the City has opportunity to ensure the needs to meet the community. Space to do public engagement. They will be providing free wifi. How will they share the info about their property The City has an affordable housing dashboard on the website. Job placement – they will work with MBE & WBE Does this have a event manager – if you want to turn it in to a community space. They want to find a local to do the program 8. Bylaws – City leadership Nichole gave a overview of new vision for the HRC. Want to ensure that HRC is connected to the strategic priorities. How do you serve as advocates – HRC is encouraged to help shape the works. Is there a disconnect between the City code and bylaws First stab at bylaws – was focused on language rather than operationalized action. Code of conduct and operations Concern that commission is made up of mostly cis-gender white folks – we should be seeking more diverse folks Commission should aid in recruiting for the commission. If you were to list the 2 or 3 outcomes from the bylaws? Emily – Have a bit of anchor bridge the gap between the City code and what we are actually doing. Virginia – What can we do to make communicate clearer for new commissioners? Establishing a process that is consistent for when people come on. Continuity Baking in certain frameworks that become a natural part of the process. A repository that exist and no central archive Human Rights Commission -3- 7/20/2021 Outcomes- the needs of the groups and the bylaws – where in the structure can we make it something. We need to have some institutional knowledge. Nicholes – Outcomes Bridging the city code and what HRC is supposed to do. Provide a framework and structure for onboarding new commissioners Where do we store the information. What background info do we need for the commission. How do we share out things? 9.
