HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-118 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2021/10/04Resolution No. 21-118 Resolution approving a COVID-19 vaccination incentive for city employees Whereas the city council wishes to adopt policies for city employees which ensure adequate compensation, leave and benefits; and Whereas the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) have strongly encouraged vaccination against COVID-19 with the goal of stopping the spread of the virus and ending the pandemic; and Whereas the city council wishes to incentivize staff who are already vaccinated to provide proof and verification of vaccination, and incentivize others to become vaccinated as quickly as possible to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all staff and customers; and Whereas the city council has conferred upon the city manager the power to establish and administer additional administrative policies and rules as may be appropriate to administer the employment practices of the city; Now therefore be it resolved that the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park approves a $300 pre-paid cash card COVID-19 vaccination incentive for regular benefit-earning employees and deems the incentive a sufficient public purpose expenditure to protect employees and customers. Further, the city council confers upon the city manager the authority to develop and administer policy criteria for the COVID-19 vaccination incentive policy.
