POLICE ADVISORY COMMISSION –MEETING
AGENDA

All meetings of the St. Louis Park Police Advisory Commission will be conducted by telephone
or other electronic means until further notice. This is in accordance with a local emergency
declaration issued by the city council, in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
All members of the St. Louis Park Police Advisory Commission will participate in the Nov. 4,
2020 meeting by electronic device or telephone rather than by being personally present at the
police advisory commission’s regular meeting place at 5005 Minnetonka Blvd.
Members of the public can monitor this meeting by listen only audio by calling 1.312.535.8110 or 1.415.655.0001, meeting number (access code): 372 262 73 for audio only. Cisco WebEx will
be used to conduct videoconference meetings of the police advisory commission, with
commissioners and staff participating from multiple locations.
1. Call to order Commissioner McDaniel call to order at 7:03 PM.
a. Roll Call: Hanson, Bodin, Christenson, Ibrahim, Kinney, McDaniel, Tousignant,
Hosak, Heddle, Khabie, & Sawtelle. Lt Garland also present.
b. Approval of Agenda

3. Subcommittee on Police Use of Force update (Collab. with HRC and
PMAC)
a. Policy was submitted to the State. It has been implemented and officers have
received training.
4. Crime info sharing (Lt Garland)
a. PD Update: Personnel, assignment changes, recruitment in the Police Dept.
• Lt. Parker retired.
• Due to COVID, some staff still working remotely.
• Remote/Online Reserve and Police Explorer meeting planned for Jan or
Feb 2021
• Numerous department members have been COVID vaccinated
• Lots of changes with roles and promotions
• Lexipol Policy Project- The Most Advanced Policy Management and
Training -Platform
o Web based platform and mobile app
o It will take one year to fully adapt PD to this new platform

5. Election of officers and Commissioners’ terms update
New Officers term is January 1 – December 31, 2021
Commissioner Tousignant to become Chair

Commissioner Hanson to become Vice Chair

Commissioner Christenson to become Secretary

Vote: All officer positions were approved

a. Community-Policing in the midst of COVID-19.
