HomeMy WebLinkAbout2599-20 - ADMIN Ordinance - City Council - 2020/11/16Ordinance No. 2599-20 Ordinance amending the St. Louis Park ordinance code changing boundaries of zoning districts and adding a new zoning district, MX-2 neighborhood mixed-use The City of St. Louis Park does ordain: Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park conducted a planning revitalization study of the Historic Walker Lake District, which was adopted by the City Council in January 2020; and Whereas, the revitalization study recommended several zoning code revisions to achieve the community’s goals of preservation and revitalization within the district which facilitates an update to the zoning ordinance. Section 1. The planning commission held a public hearing and recommended adoption of amendments to the zoning map on October 21, 2020. Section 2. The city council has considered the advice and recommendations of the planning commission (Case No. 20-20-ZA). Section 3. The Official Zoning Map for the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, is hereby amended to rename the MX District to MX-1, vertical mixed use and rezone all of Historic Walker Lake to MX-2, neighborhood mixed use as shown in the Attachments. Section 4. The rezoning of parcels to MX-2 shall take effect upon Metropolitan Council authorization of the associated comprehensive plan amendment approved by City Council Resolution 20-163, and no sooner than Dec. 11, 2020.
