Resolution approving acceptance of grant funding from the Hennepin County
“Save the Summer” grant program in the amount of $44,466
Whereas, Hennepin County, via the Hennepin County “Save the Summer” Program,
provides funds to assist local and regional government units of Hennepin County with the
creation of youth summer programs in the time of COVID-19; and
Whereas, The Three Rivers Park District as agreed to be the fiscal agent for these grant
funds for cities in Hennepin County; and
Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park must accept the approved grant funding for
approved programs relating to COVID 19; and
Whereas, the Hennepin County “Save the Summer” grant program will reimburse all
related costs to the approved program proposals, in an amount not to exceed $44,466, for the
city’s Westwood Hills Nature Center summer camps, summer playground program, youth sport
leagues, Park at Home activity packs and Aquatic Center, fall programming; and
Now therefore be it resolved by the City of St. Louis Park City Council that the grant
funding is hereby accepted with thanks to the Hennepin County “Save the Summer” grant
program with the understanding that the funding must be used for approved program proposal
expenses incurred between May and December 2020.
