HomeMy WebLinkAbout20-071 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2020/04/06Resolution No. 20-071 Resolution supporting the approval of an amendment to the 2040 comprehensive plan for the City of St. Louis Park under Minnesota Statutes 462.351 to 462.364 for the property located at 5005 Old Cedar Lake Road Whereas, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan was adopted by the City Council on August 5, 2019; and Whereas, the use of said Plan will insure a safer, more pleasant, and more economical environment for residential, commercial, industrial, and public activities and will promote the public health, safety and general welfare; and Whereas, said Plan will prepare the community for anticipated desirable change, thereby bringing about significant savings in both private and public expenditures; and Whereas, said Plan has taken due cognizance of the planning activities of adjacent units of government; and Whereas, said Plan is to be periodically reviewed by the City of St. Louis Park Planning Commission and amendments made, if justified according to procedures, rules, and laws, and provided such amendments would provide a positive result and are consistent with other provisions in the Comprehensive Plan; and Whereas, the City of St. Louis Park Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended adoption of an amendment to said Plan on February 5, 2020; and Whereas, the City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission; and Whereas, the contents of Planning Case File 19-36-CP are hereby entered into and made part of the public hearing record and the record of decision for this case; and Now therefore be it resolved by the City Council of St. Louis Park that said Plan, as previously adopted by the City Council, is hereby amended as follows and as shown in the attached exhibits: Change the future land use designation for the property at 5005 Old Cedar Lake Road (PID: 30-029-24-34-0004) from OFC – Office to RH – High Density Residential, and Changes to the text, tables and figures within the 2040 Comprehensive Plan document as shown in the attachments to reflect updates to city forecasts and development phasing based on the change in land use; changes within the document are found on the following pages: 5-126 and 5-129. City staff are instructed to submit the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Metropolitan Council.
