ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
ST. LOUIS PARK, MINNESOTA
June 21, 1999
1. Call to order
President Young called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call
The following Commissioners were present at roll call: run Brimeyer, Ron Latz, Chris Nelson,
Susan Sanger, Jeff Jacobs, Sue Santa and President Robert Young.
Also present were City Manager (Mr. Meyer); Economic Development Coordinator (Mr.
Anderson); and Director of Community Development (Mr. Harmening); and Secretary (Ms.
Larsen).
3. Approval of Minutes of June 7, 1999
The minutes were approved as presented.

It was moved to by Commissioner Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Sanger, to approve the
agenda. Motion passed unanimously.
5. Reports
a. Vendor Claims
It was moved by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Nelson, to accept the report
for filing. Motion passed unanimously
6. Old Business - None
7. New Business
7a. Purchase of Single Family Home at 4822 38 Street West (Schnabel
Property).
Mr . An derson stated that thi s was the las t home in the Par k Comm ons ar ea to be acquired an d
offered to ans wer questions.
Commi ssioner Latz asked what the pro perty itself was worth. Mr . An derson replied that the
ED A appraisal valued the property at $125,000. Additional co sts w ere fo r th e statutory housing
replace ment paym ent.
It was moved by Commi ssioner Nelson, sec onded by Commi ssioner Ja cobs, to au thoriz e the
President an d Executive Director to enter into a stipulation of sett lement agr eement for the
property at 4822 3 8th Street W est an d to execute all documents to complete the acquisition. The
motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Young thanked staff for work done on acquiring property in Park Commons. He
recognized that the process had been conducted sensitively and fairly. No condemnations had
occurred and many of the residents were able to remain in St. Louis Park. He asked if there were
commercial properties left to acquire. Mr. Anderson said that several commercial acquisitions
were still in progress, most of which are located east of the Jennings property to Monterey
Avenue. Negotiations are occurring and voluntary acquisition is again being emphasized.

By unanimous motion, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
