HomeMy WebLinkAbout14-071 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 2014/05/17RESOLUTION NO. 14-071 TRUNK HIGHWAY 7 DETOUR AGREEMENT NO. 05501 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation ("MnDOT") is undertaking the improvement of Trunk Highway 100; and WHEREAS, as part of the Trunk Highway 100 project MnDOT will be using City streets for the detour of Trunk Highway 7. WHEREAS, MnDOT has offered $14,509.69 as compensation for the road life consumed by the detour. WHEREAS, the City agrees that this amount constitutes reasonable compensation. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St Louis Park, Minnesota, that: 1. The City of Saint Louis Park enters into MnDOT Agreement No. 05501 with the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation for the following purposes: To provide for payment by the State to the City for the use of Monterey Drive, W. 36th Street, and Wooddale Avenue as a detour route during the contract construction to be performed upon, along and adjacent to T.H. 100 from a point 900' North of Excelsior Boulevard to Cedar Lake Road under State Project No. 2734-33 (T.H. 100 = 130) FUR HER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Manager are authorized to execute greeme t and any amendments to the Agreement. opted y the City Council May 19, 2014 Attest: City Clerk May RESOLUTION NO. 14-071 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF ST. LOUIS PARK ARTS & CULTURE GRANTS TO THE PARK THEATER COMPANY AND SABES JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park created this program in 2006 with the assistance of Friends of the Arts and the St. Louis Park Community Foundation to create and support a grant program to fund art projects and cultural activities that build bndges between artists and communities, engage people in creative learning, and promote artistic production and cultural expenences in St. Louis Park; and WHEREAS, three applicants responded to the call for proposals and were evaluated by a committee comprised of representatives of the St. Louis Park Community Foundation, Fnends of the Arts, city staff, and community members; and WHEREAS, the committee recommends the City Council fund two (2) grant proposals for a total of $8,200. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St Louis Park, Minnesota, authonzes execution of grant agreements with the following organizations based on the review committee's recommendations and the applicants' proposals. The Park Theater Company is awarded a maximum of $4,700. 2. Sabes Jewish Community Center Performing Arts is awarded a maximum of $3,500.
