RESOLUTION CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF
ST. LOUIS PARK - NOVEMBER 6, 2001
MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Charter Section 4.08, the City Council shall meet and canvass
election returns within seven days of any election and shall declare the results as soon as
possible; and
WHEREAS, the results prepared and certified to by the election judges have been presented in
summary form to the City Council for inspection,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows:
1. The November 6, 2001 election returns having been canvassed, the votes received by each
candidate for city offices are as follows:

AUTHORIZATION APPROVING NEW
AUTHORIZATION
The Board of Independent School District
No 273 (Edina), has proposed to revoke'
$153 47 per resident marginal cost pupil unit
of the existing referendum revenue
authorization approved by the voters of the
school district in 1988 and renewed by the
voters in 1993 and 1998 and to replace that
authorization with a new referendum
revenue authorization
The proposed new authorization will be in
the amount of $398 32 per resident marginal
cost pupil unit, which is an increase of
$244 85 per resident marginal cost pupil unit
over the authorization to be revoked The
additional revenue will be used to finance
school operations and the properly tax
portion thereof will require an estimated
referendum lax rale of approximately
06418% of the referendum market value of
the school district for taxes payable in 2002,
the first year it Is to be levied The proposed
referendum revenue authonzation would be
applicable for ten years unless otherwise
revoked or reduced as provided by law
Shall a portion of the school districts
existing referendum revenue authonzation
be revoked and the increase in the revenue
proposed by the Board of Independent
School District No 273 be approved?

total cost of the project is $20,000,000 The
project has received a positive review and
comment from the Commissioner of
Children, Families and Learning For taxes
payable in 2002, the first year the
authorization is to be levied, the District will
levy a tax not to exceed 3 206% on the net
tax capacity of all taxable properly in the
School District The amount raised by the
tax in the first year will be approximately
$2,000,000 The proposed down payment
levy would be applicable for 10 years unless
otherwise revoked or reduced as provided
by law
