RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A RENEWED
LEASE WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation, is the fee
owner of a vacant land parcel on the northwest quadrant of the function of T.H. 7 and T.
H. 100 within the City of St. Louis Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park, under the terms and conditions of lease
agreements with the State of Minnesota, has operated and maintained a public park
facility on this site for several years; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is offenng to renew a lease with the City of
St. Louis Park which would allow the City to continue operation and maintenance of a
public park on this site through November, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has, in past years, allowed the City to
maintain the property in lieu of rent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Louis Park City Council
that the continued lease of this property for public park use is in the best interest of the
citizens of St. Louis Park, and that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to
execute said lease.
