HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-15 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1997/02/18RESOLUTION NO. 97 - 1 5 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ORGANIZE SOLID WASTE COLLECTION WITHIN THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK AND TO INVITE THE PARTICIPATION OF INTERESTED PERSONS IN PLANNING AND ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZED COLLECTION SYSTEM WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park has contracted with a single service provider for residential collection services within the City for over 28 years; and WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute Section 115A.94 describes an optional process for organizing solid waste collection which is in addition to authority to govern solid waste collection granted by other law; and WHEREAS, two weeks' public notice was provided for a public hearing on February 18, 1997 regarding the City's intent to continue organized collection; and WHEREAS, mailed notices of the February 18, 1997 public hearing were sent to persons known by the City to be operating solid waste collection services in the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on February 18, 1997 regarding its intent to continue to organize solid waste collection services within the City of St. Louis Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota that the City: 1) announces its intent to continue to organize residential solid waste collection within the City of St. Louis Park, and 2) invites the participation of interested persons in planning and establishing the continued organized collection system.
