RESOLUTION NO.' 97 `` „1.2
RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED 1997 TAX LEVY, COLLECTIBLE IN 1998
AND APPROVING PROPOSED BUDGET FOR 1998
WHEREAS, The City of St. Louis Park is required by Charter and State law to approve a
resolution setting forth an annual tax levy to the Hennepin County Auditor, and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes currently in force require approval of a proposed tax levy and a
preliminary budget as well as dates for the initial and continuation public hearings on the proposed
levy and budget on or before September 15th of each year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the proposed budget document;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park
that the preliminary budget for 1998 shall be as follows:

and as supported by the detailed proposed budget document; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the dates for the public hearing on the proposed tax levy
and budget is set for Wednesday, December 3, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, and should a continuation hearing be required, that the date for the continuation hearing will
be Wednesday, December 10, 1997 at 7.30 p m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Hennepin
County, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied in 1997, collectible in 1998 upon
the taxable property in said City of St. Louis Park for the following purposes:
General Fund $ 7,015,564
Parks & Recreation 1,758,914
Parks Improvement 49,092
G.O. Debt Service 289,480
Total $ 9,113,050
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Hennepin County, Minnesota
and to the Local Government Aids/Analysis Division, Department of Revenue, State of Minnesota
as required by law.
