HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-122 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1997/09/15RESOLUTION NO. 97-122 RESOLUTION APPROVING TWO 1997 URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM THIRD PARTY AGREEMENTS (CDBG YEAR XXIII) BETWEEN WAYSIDE HOUSE, INC. AND THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK, AND MEADOWBROOK COLLABORATIVE AND THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK RELATING TO CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK'S MULTIFAMILY NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park, through execution of a Joint Cooperation Agreement with Hennepin County, is cooperating in the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park developed a proposal for the use of Hennepin County CDBG funds made available to it. A public hearing was held on March 3, 1997 to obtain views of citizens on local and urban Hennepin County housing and cammunity development needs and priorities for the City's proposed use of $286,343.00 from the 1997 Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council designated that $85,903 be set aside for rehabilitation or public improvements to multifamily apartment communities, $10,000 of which were proposed to be used to allow a public service agency to provide services to enhance the social environment of these multifamily communities; and WHEREAS, the City Council solicited proposals from apartment owners and public service agencies to provide said improvements and services; and WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park received and considered proposals from Wayside House, Inc., Meadowbrook Collaborative and Perspectives, Inc. 1 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of St. Louis Park authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute 1997 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG Year XXIII) Third Party Agreements with Wayside House, Inc. and Meadowbrook Collaborative for improvements and services to be provided by each agency, as identified in their applications. Wayside House, Inc. is awarded $3,000 to construct a new playground at 1341/1349 Jersey Avenue. Meadowbrook is awarded $40,000 toward construction costs related to the creation of a community center at Meadowbrook Manor.
