Eliot View- $5,000 to be used for a neighborhood park. Approval is contingent upon the Park and Recreation Department conducting a mail survey which would need to demonstrate that a majority of the neighborhood is in support of the project; the neighborhood providing a monetary and/or sweat equity match; and the Park and Recreation Department examine the feasibility of fully or partially funding the project through the Park Improvement Fund rather than with NRC grant funds. Minikanda Oaks Neighborhood - $2,300 to install planting at the neighborhood entrance. Approval is contingent upon municipal or county approval (if necessary) to install the plantings on right of way and that the plantings be coordinated with the plan for the 1997 Excelsior Boulevard Improvement Project. Westwood Hills Neighborhood - $5,000 to purchase interactive environmental software and computers for the Westwood Nature Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that other neighborhood requests for funding which have been made, but are not listed above, are either not approved or the neighborhood is being requested to provide additional information pursuant to the recommendations made by the NRC on October 9, 1996.
