HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-123 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1996/08/05RESOLUTION NO. 96-123 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 96-19 AND 90-54 RECONSTRUCTION OF PARK PLACE BOULEVARD, GAMBLE DRIVE, AND W. 16TH STREET AND PROJECT NO. 90-54 FOR SURFACE IMPROVEMENTS ON GAMBLE DRIVE, EAST OF PARK PLACE BOULEVARD WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for improvement project Nos. 96-19 and 90-54, bids were received, opened, read aloud and tabulated by the Bonestroo and Associates and the City Public Works Department on July 30, 1996. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Hardnves, Inc. Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. Midwest Asphalt Corporation Valley Paving, Inc. Northwest Asphalt, Inc. * Denotes Engineer's correction upon extension. Bid Amount $ 873,073.25* 890,310.82 934,036.40* 974,992.93* 1,067,227.30* WHEREAS, it appears that Hardrives, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, that: The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authonzed and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $873,073.25 with Hardrives, Inc. in the name of the City of St. Louis Park, for improvement project Nos. 90-54 and 96-19 according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works contingent upon: A. The City obtaining the necessary nght of way, B. Ryan Construction closing on the former Honeywell property pursuant to the procedure in the Development Agreement, and C. City receipt of the special assessment security per the'Development and Supplemental Development Agreements relating to the redevelopment of the former Honeywell site. 2. The Interim City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return to all bidders the deposits made with their bids in accordance with the bid documents except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
