HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-132 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1995/10/02RESOLUTION NO. 95-132 RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL LAW AS RECORDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES CHAPTER 264, ARTICLE 3, SECTION 41 WHEREAS the St. Louis Park City Council unanimously supported achieving special legislation authorizing the City to create special service districts. WHEREAS, special services are defined as: (1) all services rendered or contracted for by the city, including the repair, maintenance, operation, and construction of any improvement authorized by Minnesota Statutes, section 429.021; (2) maintenance of landscape and streetscape improvements installed by the city; (3) any other service provided to the public by the city as authorized by law or charter WHEREAS the City intends to use the revenue generated by the special service district to pay for the various services authorized to be provided in the district; WHEREAS the State Legislature has authorized the City to adopt ordinances to establish special service districts as per provisions of Minnesota Statute, chapter 428A, which govern the establishment and operation of special service districts in the City, and WHEREAS the St. Louis Park City Council is now required to apprpve, by resolution, the special legislation established under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 264, Article 3, Section 41, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 645.021, Subd. 3. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Louis Park City Council that it approves the special legislation as recorded in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 264, Article 3, Section 41. ATTEST: IP (4 City ler Revi ed for administration: Approved as to form and execution: 7057:GEN54 City Attorney RESOLUTION NO 95-133 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AT PERSPECTIVES, INC. WHEREAS, the Property Owner at 3381 Gorham Avenue ("Benefited Property") has petitioned the City of St Louis Park to authorize a special assessment for the installation of a fire sprinkler system in their office building on the Benefited Property; and WHEREAS, the Property Owner has agreed to waive their right to a public hearing, right of notice and right of appeal pursuant to Minnesota Statute, Chapter 429; and WHEREAS, the Property Owner has assumed all responsibility to install, operate and maintain the fire sprinkler system; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park has received a report from the Director of Inspections related to the installation of the fire sprinkler system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St Louis Park, Minnesota, that. 1. The petition from the Property Owner requesting the approval and special assessment for the fire sprinkler system is hereby accepted. 2. The installation of the fire sprinkler system in conformance with the plans and specifications approved by the Fire Department and Department of Inspections is hereby authorized. 3. The total estimated cost for the design and complete installation of the fire sprinkler system is accepted at $68,685 00. 4.
