HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-98 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1994/07/18RESOLUTION NO. 94-98 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR VIRGINIA AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION FROM W. 28TH STREET TO BURD PLACE (PROJECT NO. 93-01); WATERMAIN LOOPING ON FAIRWAY LANE (PROJECT NO. 93-32); STREET RECONSTRUCTION OF W. 35TH STREET AND RALEIGH AVENUE (PROJECT NO. 94-01); AND WATERMAIN TRUNK LINE FROM NEW ELEVATED TANK #2 TO DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (PROJECT NO. 94-12) WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Project Nos. 93-01, 93-94-18 32, 94-01 and 94-12, were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Manager on July 12, 1994. Said bids were as follows: Bidder GMH Asphalt Corporation Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. Northwest Asphalt, Inc. Hardrives, Inc. C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. DMJ Corporation Midwest Asphalt, Inc. Valley Paving, Inc. Engineer's Estimate Bid Amount $ 295,615.70 306,320.15 312,973.05 315,443.00 319,897.50 321,078.15 323,908.50 358,737.25 $ 339,800.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota that: 1. GMH Asphalt Corporation is approved as the lowest responsible bidder. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $295,615.70 with GMH Asphalt Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of St. Louis Park, for Project Nos. 93-01, 93-32, 94-01, and 94-12 according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works. 3. City staff is hereby authorized and directed to return all bona fide plan holders the deposits made in accordance with the bid documents, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
