HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-165 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1994/11/07RESOLUTION NO. 94-165 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES AT 6363 STATE HIGHWAY 7 , TRAFFIC STUDY NO. 485 WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, has caused a traffic analysis to be made on certain public or private property within the City with respect to fire lane designation; and WHEREAS, the results as analyzed by the Engineering Division and the Fire Department of the City indicate that the following limitations on parking are required on the hereinafter described area in order that the travel of fire equipment may not be interfered with and that the access to fire hydrants to buildings may not be blocked off; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1084, adopted November 17, 1969 by the City Council, provides for the installation of traffic control signs when and as required by resolution of the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following areas at 6363 State Highway 7 are hereby designated as fire lanes: 1. The 157 foot long area along the western edge of the parking area for the loading docks on the north side of the building. 2. The 28 foot long section of the building, from the inside corner of the north side loading dock area east to the Fire Department sprinkler connection. 3. The 160 foot of south side curb line for parking median containing a fire hydrant and post indicator valve, directly north of loading docks on the north side of building. 4. Both sides of the main entrance on the east side of building, for an area of 29 feet across. 5. Both sides of the central parking lot entrance, measuring 73 feet from frontage road to first entrance of parking areas; and both sides of the second set of parking medians at western entrance/exit of outdoor storage area, measuring 26 feet each, that contain a fire hydrant and gate mechanisms. 6. Both sides of the eastern parking lot entrance, both sides of the intersections into parking areas to the east and to the west, and both sides of the entrance/exit medians to the east gate of the outdoor storage area. 7. Both sides of the drive connecting the north and south parking areas, of the eastern -most parking area, on the eastern side. The curb line on the north and east side of drive measures 120 feet combined and on the south and western side measure 53 feet combined. 94L/4r The Director of Public Works and the owner of the property involved are hereby authorized and directed to install fire lane signs of approved type setting limits on parking as required by ordinance.
