Home My WebLink About94-148 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1994/10/03RESOLUTION NO. 94-148 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING JURISDICTIONAL TRANSFER OF CEDAR LAKE ROAD BETWEEN TRUNK HIGHWAY 169 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 100 AND ADDING CEDAR LAKE ROAD TO THE CITY'S MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET SYSTEM WITHIN THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK WHEREAS, pursuant to negotiations between the City of St. Louis Park and Hennepin County an agreement has been entered into providing for the transfer of jurisdiction of Cedar Lake Road (County State Aid Highway No. 16) between Trunk Highway 169 and Trunk Highway 100 from Hennepin County to the City effective October 1, 1994; and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that it is appropriate to add Cedar Lake Road to the City's Municipal State Aid street system under the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 161 and 162 as amended, and that said addition complies with the St. Louis Park Comprehensive Plan and the current policies of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Council and Hennepin County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that: 1. The City of St. Louis Park hereby supports the revocation of the designation of County State Aid Highway 16 between Trunk Highway 169 and Trunk Highway 100 and supports the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation's order revoking said designation. 2. The City of St. Louis Park hereby accepts jurisdiction of Cedar Lake Road (formerly County State Aid Highway 16) between Trunk Highway 169 and Trunk Highway 100. 3. The City of St. Louis Park hereby establishes the designation and requests that the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation approve the establishment, location, and designation of Cedar Lake Road between Trunk Highway 169 and Trunk Highway 100 as a "Municipal State Aid Street". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward two (2) certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation for his consideration and that upon his approval of this designation, Cedar Lake Road shall be constructed, improved and maintained as a Municipal State Aid street of the City of St. Louis Park, to be numbered as determined by the rules for State Aid Operations, Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 161 and 162, as amended.
