HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-88 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1993/07/06r RESOLUTION NO. 93-88 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY POLICY RE COUNCIL MEETINGS ON JEWISH HOLIDAYS WHEREAS, there currently if no City policy concerning Council meetings which conflict with Jewish holidays; and WHEREAS, the City Council is sensitive to a portion of St. Louis Park residents and wishes to maximize opportunities for public participation, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, creates by this resolution the following policy: "The City Council will not meet on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Christmas Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot. For New Year's Day, Christmas and Yom Kippur, this includes the evening before the holiday. For Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot, this includes the first and second evenings of the holiday. Meetings will be rescheduled to the same hour on the next Tuesday unless the Tuesday is also a holiday. If this is the case, the meeting will be moved to the same hour on the next succeeding Monday that is not a holiday."
