RESOLTION NO. 93-190
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT
WITH UNITED STATES POLLUTION CONTROL, INC. FOR THE
DISPOSAL OF CONTAMINATED SOILS GENERATED DURING
PROJECT NO. 89-05, THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
TRUNK HIGHWAY 7/LOUISIANA AVENUE INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, in 1991 and 1992 the City provided for the construction of the
Trunk Highway 7/Louisiana Avenue intersection under Project No. 89-05; and
WHEREAS, during the construction activity, soils contaminated by the
actions of the former Reilly Tar & Chemical Corporation facility were
encountered; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has examined its options relative to the
disposal of the contaminated soils and determined that it is in the best
interests of the City to dispose the contaminated soils in an appropriate
landfill facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St.
Louis Park, Minnesota that the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized
and directed to enter into a contract with United States Pollution Control,
Inc. for the disposal of soils, contaminated by the actions of the former
Reilly Tar & Chemical Corporation facility, in United States Pollution
Control, Inc. facilities in Rosemount, Minnesota.
