HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-106 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1993/07/19RESOLUTION NO. 93-106 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR PROJECT N0. 93-13; RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SANITARY SEWER FORCEMAIN IN BROWNDALE AVENUE FROM LIFT STATION #5 AT DEVANEY STREET TO WOODDALE AVENUE WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project No. 93-13, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Manager on July 15, 1993. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. $ 63,565.50 Metro Utilities, Inc. 64,851.00 Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. 73,559.00 Northdale Construction Company, Inc. 103,204.80 Engineer's Estimate $ 64,500.00 WHEREAS, Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest bid for the reconstruction of the sanitary sewer forcemain in Browndale Avenue from lift station #5 at Devaney Street to Wooddale Avenue, WHEREAS, it appears Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota that: 1. Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. is approved as the lowest responsible bidder. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $63,565.50 with Thomas & Sons Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of St. Louis Park, for Improvement Project No. 93-13 according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works. 3. City staff is hereby authorized and directed to return all plan holders the deposits made in accordance with the bid documents, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
