HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-66 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1992/05/04RESOLUTION NO. 92-66 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STOP SIGN PLACEMENT AT THE INTERSECTION OF W. 27TH STREET AND YOSEMITE AVENUE TRAFFIC STUDY NO. 458 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, that a traffic analysis having been completed, the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to install the following controls: 1. Placement of stop signs on the W. 27th Street approaches to their intersection with Yosemite Avenue. 2. Replace the yield signs on the Yosemite Avenue approaches to the W. 27th Street intersection with stop signs. McPhee WHEREAS, Harvey McPhee has served the City of St. Louis Park for 33 years from May 11, 1959, to May 29, 1992, in his responsibilities for building inspection, zoning enforcement, housing maintenance and environmental health; WHEREAS, St. Louis Park has benefited from his dedication to protecting citizens' safety and his devotion to bettering our environment; WHEREAS, Harvey McPhee has earned the respect of his colleagues in government, industry and consumer protection organizations for his honesty, high standards, expertise, professional commitment, and genuine concern for others; WHEREAS, the following organizations have turned to him as a resource and benefited from his involvement: the American Public Health Association, the National Conference of Local Health Administrators, the National Sanitation Foundation, the National Environmental Health Association, the Minnesota Environmental Health Association, the Minnesota Public Health Association and Upper Midwest Section of the Air and Water Management Association, and the Association of Local Air Pollution Control Officials. WHEREAS, Harvey McPhee has received many awards including the Environmental Leadership Award from the National Sanitation Foundation, a National Environmental Health Association award for his work in developing food equipment standards, and the "Sanitarian of the Year Award" from the Minnesota Environmental Health Association. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, by this resolution and public record, recognize the outstanding contributions Harvey McPhee has made to the community; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council extend to Harvey McPhee best wishes for a lengthy, enjoyable and well-deserved retirement. Hanks, Mayor Approved as to form and execution: Wtivuluf-dce City Manager City Attorney Resolution Number 92-68 Resolution of Appreciation To Sally Olsen WHEREAS, Representative Sally Olsen has served in the Minnesota Legislature from 1978 to 1992; WHEREAS, St. Louis Park appreciates Sally Olsen's service in the Legislature, the St. Louis Park School Board, the West Suburban Mediation Center, as well as many other state and local organizations; WHEREAS, her commitment and dedicated service have helped make St. Louis Park a better community in which to live, work and learn; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, by this resolution and public record, recognize and thank Sally Olsen for the contributions she has made to the community; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council extend to Sally Olsen congratulations on her appointment to Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals and offer their best wishes for continued success in her new endeavor.
