HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-130 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1992/08/17f RESOLUTION NO. 92-130 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 89-09 (S.A.P. 163-010-31); INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTING ALONG THE SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD OF I-394 FROM TEXAS AVENUE TO UTICA AVENUE WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for improvement project no. 89-09, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the Director of Public Works on August 12, 1992. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Electric Service Co. $201,351.50 Ridgedale Electric Inc. 204,865.00 Killmer Electric Co. 205,061.00 Egan -McKay Electrical Contractors, Inc. 214,698.00* Premier Electrical Corp. 214,938.00 Engineer's Estimate $230,000.00 * Denotes Engineer's correction upon extension of unit prices. WHEREAS, it appears that Electric Service Co. of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota that: 1. Contingent upon receipt of authorization to advance the project status from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $201,351.50 with Electric Service Co. of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the name of the City of St. Louis Park, for improvement project no. 89-09 according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return all bidders the deposits made with their bids in accordance with the bid documents, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been executed.
