HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-109 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1992/07/20RESOLUTION NO. 92-109 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND NECESSARY CONTROLS AT THE ST. LOUIS PARK RECREATION CENTER WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the purchase and installation of an air conditioning system and necessary controls at the Recreation Center were received, opened and tabulated by the Director of Parks and Recreation on July 13, 1992. Said bids were as follows: Albers Mechanical Service Cronstrom's Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. Faircon Service $45,564 $55,887 $58,228 WHEREAS, Albers Mechanical Service did not include the cost of electrical work or a list of bidder's qualifications and therefore submitted a non-responsive and incomplete bid, and WHEREAS, the City has the right to reject a bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that Albers Mechanical Service is not a responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, the bid of Albers Mechanical Service is hereby rejected; and WHEREAS, it is the City's intent to award a contract to the lowest.responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, it appears that Cronstrom's Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that: 1. It has been determined that Albers Mechanical Services submitted a non-responsive bid and incomplete bid and therefore its total bid is hereby rejected. 2. It appears that Cronstrom's Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. 3. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $55,887 with Cronstrom's Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. for the purchase and installation of an air conditioning system and necessary controls at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center. 4. The Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized and (see over) 92.-p4 directed to return to all bidders the deposits made with their bids in accordance with the bid documents, except that the deposit of the lowest responsible bidder shall be retained until the contract has been executed.
