HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-74 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1991/04/01Substituted Original RESOLUTION NO. 91-74 RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 7 IMPROVEMENTS FROM DAKOTA AVENUE TO A POINT 1200 FEET EAST OF WOODDALE AVENUE (STATE PROJECT S.P. 2706-177) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park is proposing to construct the south frontage road of Trunk Highway 7 under Municipal State Aid Project Nos. SAP -163-010-27 and SAP -163-280-17; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has determined it is in the best interests of the public to provide for the closure of the Trunk Highway 7 access at the Dakota Avenue and Brunswick Avenue intersection with Trunk Highway No. 7 in conjunction with the City's improvement; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has determined that it is necessary to construct a new traffic signal system at the Trunk Highway No. 7/Wooddale Avenue intersection to accommodate improvement in traffic movements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the Minnesota Department of Transportation is requested to participate in the funding of the south frontage road of Trunk Highway No. 7 improvements, including a new traffic signal system, storm sewer, street lighting, and paving, curb and gutter, between approximately Dakota Avenue to a point 1200 feet east of Wooddale Avenue, and that necessary agreement(s) be developed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation describing the terms and conditions of the proposed construction and its financing.
