HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-139 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1991/07/15RESOLUTION 91-139 RESOLUTION DEFINING "POLICE PERFORMANCE PAY" AS A "SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFIT PAYMENT" ACCORDING TO THE BYLAWS OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK POLICE RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the St. Louis Park Police Relief Association had defined top patrol officer wage as including "longevity or supplemental benefit payments", and WHEREAS, the City and Local 320 had negotiated a labor agreement which converted longevity pay to performance pay with the assumption that performance pay would be considered a "supplemental benefit payment" under the Relief Association Bylaws, and WHEREAS, the St. Louis Park Police Relief Association was consolidated under PERA's administration in 1990, and its Board of Trustees can no longer amend its bylaws, and WHEREAS, PERA has requested the City Council to clarify the definition of performance pay; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that "police performance pay" as referenced in the labor agreement shall be considered a "supplemental benefit payment" for purposes of calculating retirement benefits under the St. Louis Park Relief Association.
