HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-132 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1991/07/01RESOLUTION NO. 91-132 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT, ESTABLISHING PROJECT NO. 89-01, ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT NO. 89-01. PAVING, CURB AND GUTTER, STORM SEWER AND BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION ON BROOKSIDE AVENUE FROM THE SOUTH CITY LIMITS TO THE SO0 LINE RAILROAD CROSSING WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park has received a report from the City Engineer related to the reconstruction of the Brookside Avenue bridge over Minnehaha Creek and the street approaches under City Project No. 89-01. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, that: 1. The City Engineer's Report regarding the proposed reconstruction of the Brookside bridge and street approaches from the south City limits to the Soo Line Railroad crossing under Project No. 89-01 is hereby accepted. 2. The proposed project, designated as Project No. 89-01, is hereby established. 3. The Council being fully advised of the pertinent facts, the improvement is ordered to be reconstructed, in accordance with the description in the City Engineer' Report. 4. The plans and specifications for the making of the improvement as . prepared under the direction of the Director of Public works are approved. 5. The City Council shall let a contract for all or part of such improvement, or order all or part of the work done by day labor or otherwise as authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Section 429.041, Subdivision 2,. not later than May 31, 1992. 6. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper and in the construction Bulletin, an advertisement for bids upon the making of the improvement under the approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published as required by law, shall specify the work to be done, and shall specify the date and time at which bids will be opened by the City Clerk and City Manager in the Council Chambers in the City Hall. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the clerk for five percent of the amount of such bid. 7. The bids shall be tabulated by the Director of Public Works who shall report his tabulation and recommendation to the City Council.
