Resolution 91-109
Naming John Ross Field
WHEREAS, John Ross, a long-time resident of St. Louis Park, was instrumental in the
development of the Braille Sports Foundation;
WHEREAS, the community has benefited from his leadership, service and outstanding
achievement in promoting sports and recreational opportunities for the sight impaired;
WHEREAS, among his many achievements, John Ross has promoted and coordinated
three national Beep Baseball Tournaments in St. Louis Park;
WHEREAS, the ballfield located at the northeast corner of Texa-Tonka Park has served
as a recreation facility for local Beep Baseball players for more than a decade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis
Park that the ballfield located in the northeast corner of Texa-Tonka Park hereby be
named the
John Ross Field
in recognition of John Ross's exceptional contributions to recreational opportunities for
sight -impaired individuals.
