LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF A SIGN FOR PROPERTY ZONED R-2, SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT LOCATED AT 3946 WOODDALE AVENUE BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church has made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section 14-185.04(6)(b) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of construction of a sign within a R-2, Single Family Residence District located at 3946 Wooddale Avenue for the legal description as follows, to -wit: Lots 1 to 3 inclusive and Lots 37, 38 and north 30 feet of Lot 36, Block 1, "Browndale" (Abstract) Also that part of Section 7, Township 28, Range 24 described as commencing (at most easterly corner of Lot 2, Billmans Addition; thence southwesterly to most southerly corner thereof; thence southeasterly to northwesterly corner of Lot 1, Block 2 Browndale; thence northeasterly to northeasterly corner thereof; thence northwesterly to beginning including adjacent part of vacated alley (Torrens #84516) 2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Case No., 89 -32 -SP) and the effect of the proposed sign on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance. 3. The Council has determined that the sign will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed sign is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. 4. The contents of Planning Case File 89 -32 -SP are hereby entered into and made part of the public hearing record and the record of decision for this case. Conclusion The special permit to permit construction of sign at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following conditions: Conditions 1. Total signage on the site shall not exceed 120 square feet. 2. In addition to the 32 square foot ground sign currently existing on the site, an additional sign is permitted on the northerly building face having a square footage not to exceed 60 square feet. 3. All improvements shall be completed by May 31, 1990.
