LOUIS PARK GENERAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 7, 1989 WHEREAS, the St. Louis Park City Council has duly met as a canvassing board as required by the City Charter for the purpose of canvassing the November 7,1989, general election returns of the City, whereat paper ballots were used for the casting of votes in every voting precinct; and WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented the return sheets of each precinct prepared and certified to by the election judges; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows: 1) Said election returns be hereby canvassed, and the number of votes received by each candidate, together with the number of defective and blank ballots, are hereby determined to be as follows: OFFICE VC7TES Councilmember At Large B: Ward D. Meland 711 Defective or Blank 107 Councilmember Ward IV Tarry Mitchell 655 Defer ctive or Blank 147 Spoiled Ballots: 13 Total absentee ballots counted: 80 Total number of persons voting: 3901 2) The number of persons registered to vote before election day was 29,615 and the number of persons registering on election day was 56 , for a total of 29,671 St. Louis Park registered voters. -2- 3) Upon the basis of the above returns, the following candidates have been duly elected to the offices as herein set forth: Jane Tschida, At -Large "B" two-year term (12/89 to 12/91), S. Allen Friedman, Ward I, four-year term (12/89 to 12/93), George Haun, Ward II, four-year term (12/89 to 12/93), Keith J.
