LOUIS PARK BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. The Kenesseth Israel Congregation in St. Louis Park has asked the permission of the City to establish an ERUV in St. Louis Park in accordance with Jewish religious laws. 2. The boundaries of the proposed ERUV are the boundaries of the City of St. Louis Park. 3. Establishment of the ERUV will allow the practice of "carrying" on the Sabbath and other Jewish holy days in accordance with Orthodox Jewish law. 4. Orthodox Jewish law requires that the City in which the ERUV is located provide a grant of permission to establish the ERUV district for a nominal consideration. 5. The Kenesseth Israel Congregation has requested that the City of St. Louis Park rent to the Kenesseth Israel Congregation, for One United States dollar, the rights to the domain within the ERUV district for the sole purpose of "carrying" on the Sabbath and other Jewish holy days in accordance with Orthodox Jewish law. Conclusion 1. The City Council finds it to be in the public interest that those residents of St. Louis Park of the Jewish faith for whom this request has been presented be granted the rights requested and likewise deems it to be of no detriment to the rights and general welfare of other members of the public. 2. The City Council does hereby grant to Kenesseth Israel Congregation the rights requested for a period of 99 years and authorizes the establishment of an ERUV having the boundaries shown on Exhibit A attached hereto at a rental of One United States dollar ($1.00), in hand paid, in order to define the Sabbath bounds in accordance with Orthodox Jewish law.
