RESOLUTION NO. 87-146
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY COUNCIL POLICY ON THE SALE OF TAX FORFEITED
LAND AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 84-39
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of establishing a polis
for the sale of tax -forfeited land in a fair and equitable manner;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to maximize the sale that can be realized
by selling the tax -forfeited land,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis
Park that the following statement shall constitute the policy governing the
sale of tax -forfeited land:
1. The City Council authorizes City staff to determine the best option to
be utilized by the City in making the sale;
2. The City shall notify the owners of all properties within 350 feet of
the subject land and at the same time the City Council representative
of the ward in which the land is situated shall also be notified.
3. The subject notice shall contain the appraised value as established by
the Hennepin County Land Department, the minimum bid, and the City's estimated
market value of the property;
. The notification of the pending sale shall be included in the official
newspaper of the City and other techniques as directed by the City Council;
5. the City Manager shall report the findings of the recommendation to the
City Council at the time of resolution for sale.
Be it further resolved that all provisions of Resolution 84-39, adopted on
April 2, 1984, are incorporated herein and reaffirmed, and that Resolution
84-39 is hereby rescinded.
