LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 24 SQUARE FOOT, FREE- STANDING. SIGN FOR PROPERTY ZONED R-3, TWO FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 3700 ALABAMA AVENUE BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. Union Congregational Church has made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section 14-185.04(6) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of constructing a 24 square foot, free-standing sign within a R-3, Two Family Residence District, located at 3700 Alabama Avenue for the legal description as follows, to -wit: Lots 17 to 21 inclusive and Lots 24 to 30 inclusive, Block 48, "Rearrangement of St. Louis Park" Also Lots 5 and 6, Block 48, "St. Louis Park Center" including vacated alley. (Abstract) 2." The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Case No. 87 -63 -SP) and the effect of the proposed 24 square foot, free- standing sign on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance. 3. The Council has determined that the proposed 24 square foot, free-standing sign will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed 24 square foot, free-standing sign is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. Conclusion The special permit to permit a 24 square foot, free-standing sign at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following conditions: 1. The sign shall be permitted in accordance with Exhibit A - Plot Plan; and Exhibit B - Sign Elevation. (Exhibits are on file in City Development at the City of St. Louis Park) 2.
