HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-40 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1985/04/01RESOLUTION NO. 85-40 A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-185(C) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT A SIGN HAVING AN AREA OF 60 SQUARE FEET FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE R-2, SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT AT 6800 CEDAR LAKE ROAD. BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. Eliot Center Advisory Council has made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section 14-185(c) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of permitting a sign having an area of 60 square feet located at 6800 Cedar Lake Road for the legal description as follows, to -wit: Lots 4 to 28 Richmond 3rd Addition inclusive, including vacated 22nd Street and that part of Section 8, Township 117, Range 21 commencing at a point on east line of west 1/2 of northesast 1/4 distant 534 feet south from northeast corner thereof; thence west 157 5/10 feet to northeast corner of lot 19 Richmond 3rd Addition; thence south along said addition to center line of Cedar Lake Road; thence northeasterly along same to east line of west 1/2 of northeast 1/4; thence north along said east line to point of beginning, except road. (Abstract) 2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Case No. 85 -6 -SP) and the effect of the proposed sign on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance. 3. The Council has determined that the sign will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed sign is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. Conclusion The special permit to permit a sign having an area of 60 square feet at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following conditions: 1. That the wording "Eliot Center for the Arts" to be located on the south wall shall be limited to a maximum area of 60 square feet.
