HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-39 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1985/05/15RESOLUTION NO. 85-39 Y A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-171(6XZ) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT AN OPEN STORAGE YARD FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE I-1, GENERAL INDUSTRIAL AND F-2, FLOOD PLAIN DISTRICT AT 6830 OXFORD STREET. BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. Arthur W. Bliss and Leona E. Bliss (Construction Materials, Inc.) has made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section 14-17100 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of permitting an open storage yard located at 6830 Oxford Street for the legal description as follows, to -wit: Lot 2, Block 1, "Allan Garrison's Addition" (Torrens Certificate No. 575015) 2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Case No. 85 -2 -SP) and the effect of the proposed open storage yard on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area, go the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance. 3. The Council has determined that the proposed open storage yard will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed open storage yard is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. Conclusion The special permit to permit an open storage yard at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following conditions: 1. The site shall be developed, used and maintained in accordance with Exhibit A, Site Plan and Exhibit B, Landscape Plan. (Exhibits are on file in the City Development Department at the City of St. Louis Park.) 2. Landscaping required in Exhibit B shall be placed at and near the top of the berm located between the front lot line and the front setback line on the subject property and on the abutting property to the east approved through Resolution No. 6003. 3. The driveway shall be surfaced with bituminous or equivalent materials from Oxford Street to the fence. 4 4. No materials stored within the storage area shall be visible above the top of the fence. 5. All site improvements shall be completed by May 15, 1985.
