HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-158 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1985/10/07October 7, 1985 RESOLUTION NO. 85-158a RESOLUTION LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR DELINQUENT WATER/SEWER/REFUSE CHARGES, NUISANCE ABATEMENTS FALSE ALARM FEES, RANDOM SIDEWALK, CURB/GUTTER REPAIR AND TREE REMOVAL WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined by ordinance the rates and charges for sewer, water, and refuse services of the City and has pro- vided for the abatement of nuisances,, tree removal, random sidewalk, curb/ gutter repair and responding to false alarms at the expense of the owners of the premises involved; and WHEREAS, all such sums become delinquent and assessable against the prop- erty served under Section 6-206, Section 9-103, Section 9-307, Section 9-230, Section 11-1004 and Section 15-406(6) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code and M.S.A. Sections 18.023 and 18.271; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has prepared an assessment roll setting forth an assessment against each tract or parcel of land served by sewer, water, and refuse services of the City or charged for the cost of abating a nuisance, random sidewalk, curb/gutter repair, tree removal and responding to false alarms for all sums remaining delinquent and unpaid on September 10, 1985; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that said assessment roll is hereby adopted and approved, and there is hereby levied and assessed against each and every tract of land described therein an assessment in the amounts respectively therein set forth, which assessments are hereby determined to be the delinquent service charges for sewer, water, and refuse, nuisance abatement, random sidewalk, curb/gutter repair, tree removal and alarm fees as to said respective premises, which remained unpaid on September 10, 1985; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be hereby authorized to deliver said assessment roll to the Auditor of Hennepin County for collection of the assessments therein set forth in like manner as state, county and other taxes are collected and payment thereof enforced. Adopted by theuncil October 7, 1985 CiU �' j 4J4--� MaV&r 4Att st: City Cle Reviewed for administration: ity Manager Approved as to form and legality: � - l City Ottorney I RESOLUTION NO. 85-158 RESOLUTION APPROVING 1985 TAX LEVY, COLLECTIBLE IN 1986 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied in 1985, collectible in 1986 upon the taxable property in said City of St. Louis Park for the following purposes: General Fund $ 5,489,709 Civil Defense Fund 42,791 Debt Service Fund (G.O. Bonds) 1,037,201 Park Improvement 99,000 Firemen's Relief Fund 307,142 Police Relief Fund 295,979 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire and Police Relief Fund levies are in accordance with provisions of the "Police and Firemen's Relief Association Guidelines Act of 1969", as amended and Laws 1980, Chapter 607. Provision has also been made for payment of the City's share of Public Employees Retirement Association's contributions for the ensuing year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is a sufficient sum of monies in the Debt Service Funds of the City, together with the above Debt Service Fund tax levy, to pay principal and interest in 1985 on all outstanding bond issues, and the deferred annual tax levies previously certified to the County Auditor are hereby cancelled, and replaced by above debt service tax levy. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Hennepin County, Minnesota, and to the Local Government Aids/Analysis Division, Department of Revenue, State of Minnesota, as required by law.
