CDBG - SYSTEM FOR HANDLING EMERGENCY REQUESTS
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park is an active participant in the Urban
Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant program and
a signatory of the recently -enacted CDBG Joint Cooperation Agreement; and
WHEREAS,. the City has identified the ongoing rehabilitation of homes owned
by low-income families as a high priority of the community; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of residents of the City to
develop and implement an emergency policy for the allocation
of CDBG funds in accordance with guidelines suggested by the
Hennepin County Office of Planning and Development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that an amount of $16,500 will not be committed
to any household during the course of normal Community Development Block
Grant proceedings and will be withheld for allocation in emergency situations
that are determined to be life, health or property threatening.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any of said withheld funds that are not expended
10 within a period of three weeks prior to the onset of the next Community
Development Block Grant funding cycle will be allocated to those grant
applicants who are next eligible for assistance in accordance with the
existing CDBG regulations.
