RESOLUTION NO. 7487
A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-124.101(2)(g)
OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING
TO PERMIT AN INTERIM PARKING LOT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED
IN THE PUD, PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, AT 3501
LOUISIANA AVENUE SOUTH
BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park:
Findings
1. The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of St. Louis Park, Minnesota and
Ben Weber have made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section
14-124.101(2)(g) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of creating an
interim parking lot located at 3501 Louisiana Avenue South for the legal description as
follows, to -wit:
Northerly 185 feet of Lot 1, Block 7, Oak Park Village
2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the
Planning Commission (Case No. 83 -81 -SP) and the effect of the proposed interim parking
lot on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing
and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding
area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of
the Zoning Ordinance.
3. The Council has determined that the proposed interim parking lot will not
be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it
cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding
property values, and the proposed interim parking lot is in harmony with the general
purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan.
C onclusion
The special permit to permit an interim parking lot on the northly 185 feet of Block 7,
Oak Park Village, at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth
above and subject to the following condition:
1. That the parking lot be constructed in accordance with
Exhibit A, Parking Lot Plan (Exhibits are on file in the
Planning Department at City Hall)
2. The interim use expires on May 30, 1987.
