HomeMy WebLinkAbout6807 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1981/04/061 RESOLUTION NO. 6807 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5352 GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 6:122.15 (14-150(3)(a)) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO MODIFY AN EXISTING MOTOR FUEL STATION AT PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE B-2 DISTRICT AT 5600 WEST LAKE STREET BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park: Findings 1. Continental Oil Company -Western Store Division has made application to the City Council for a special permit under Section 6:122.15 (14-150(3)(a)) of the Zoning Ordinance for the purpose of modifying an existing motor fuel station at 5600 West Lake Street, for the legal description as follows: Lot 8, Auditor's Subdivision 323 2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Cases No. 75 -52 -SP and 81 -27 -SP) and the effect of the proposed modifications to the existing use on the health, safety, and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area and the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan. 3. The Council has determined that the modification to the existing use to permit the conversion of two service bays to additional retail floor area and to provide landscaping will not be detrimental to the health, safety, or general welfare of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed modifications to the use are in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. Conclusion The special permit to permit modifications to an existing motor fuel station at the location described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following conditions: a. The site be operated and maintained in accordance with Exhibit A, Site Plan, and Exhibit B, Elevations. b. All trash storage shall be in the designated trash room. c. All construction and landscaping shall be completed by October 15, 1981. d. That a landscaped island measuring two feet in width and located between the lot line and the pump island be provided on the north side of theproperty (Minnetonka Boulevard) and that a landscaped island measuring two feet wide located between the lot line and the sidewalk area be provided on the northeast side (Lake Street).
