HomeMy WebLinkAbout6750 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1981/01/05r f January 5, 1981 RESOLUTION NO. 6750 RESOLUTION REQUESTING EXCEPTION TO THE NOISE ABATEMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WEST 36TH STREET/HIGHWAY 100 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park proposes to upgrade Trunk Highway 100 between Trunk Highway 7 and excelsior Boulevard with the use of Federal funds; and, WHEREAS, Federal Highway Administration Policies and Procedures require the analysis of highway -generated noise impacts; and, WHEREAS, it was determined through analysis that noise levels after upgrading Trunk Highway 100 would exceed both the Federal Highway Administration Design Noise Levela and the State of Minnesota Noise Standards; and, WHEREAS, the affected property owners were advised of the expected future noise levels; and, WHEREAS, the majority of the affected property owners, having full knowledge of the expected future noise levels, have petitioned against the construction of a noise wall; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be directed to request a variance in writing to the Federal Highway Administration's Design Noise Levels and to the State of Minnesota Noise Standards as regulated by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
