RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTROL
SIGNS ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES AT THE KNOLLWOOD MALL
SHOPPING CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park has caused a traffic analysis to
be made on certain public or private property within the City with respect to
fire lane designation, and
WHEREAS, the results as analyzed by the Engineering Department and the
Fire Department of the City indicate that the following limitations on parking
are required on the hereinafter described areas in order that the travel of fire
equipment may not be interfered with and the access to fire hydrants to buildings
may not be blocked off, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1084, adopted November 17, 1969, by the City
Council, provides for the installation of traffic control signs when and as
required by resolution of the City Council, therefore,
follows:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park as
1. The following areas at the Knollwood Mall Shopping Center
located to the north and west of the intersection of Texas
Avenue and State Trunk Highway 7 are hereby designated as
fire lanes;
A. On both sides of the traffic lane adjacent to the exterior
walls of the shopping center structure beginning at the
entrance on Aquila Avenue 500 feet north of the centerline
of State Trunk Highway 7 and continuing around the exterior
of the shopping center structure to the traffic lane access
on Aquila Avenue 900 feet north of the centerline of State
Trunk Highway 7;
B. A 450 -foot long lane 30 feet wide starting 470 feet west of
the centerline of Texas Avenue from a point on Texas Avenue
350 feet north of the centerline of State Trunk Highway 7
at the intersection of these two roads.
2. The City Engineer and the owner of the property involved are hereby
authorized and directed to install fire lane signs of approved type
setting limits on parking as required by ordinance.
