HomeMy WebLinkAbout6615 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1980/08/08RESOLUTION NO. 6615 A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE EAST WALL OF WESTWOOD HILLS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Park, Minnesota: That on the basis of the letter of the architect, Joel Glotter, of Smiley, Glotter Associates, Incorporated dated August 6, 1980 and on the basis of the analysis made by Bakke Kopp Ballou and McFarlin, Structural Engineers, and tests made by Twin City Testing and consultations with Nelson-Rudie & Associates, Inc. Consulting Engineers, the City agrees not to require removal and reconstruction of the east wall provided, however, that: 1. The amount of deviation from plumb of the east wall does not increase from that amount recorded by Twin City Testing in its report of June 23, 1980. 2. The existing improper backfill is removed down to the drain tile, replaced with proper materials and compacted. 3. The drain tile installation is completed as specified. 4. The open joint between the floor slab and east wall is injected with epoxy grout. The columns in the west wall are plumbed and re -anchored. 6. Windows in west wall re -installed plumb and square. 7. Copings straightened. 8. West roof facia plumbed and straightened. 9. Adjustment to the display p'anel's details to camouflage the out -of -plumb wall. Said agreement does not constitute any waiver of any claim for any loss in value to the building because the east wall is out -of -plumb. And the City Council directs the architect to direct the contractor to continue the construction of the building according to the approved plans and specifications and instructions received from the design professionals, all as required by the contract documents of construction.
