RESOLUTION NO. 6595
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 5376 RELATING
TO DEFERMENT OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR PERSONS 65 YEARS
OF AGE OR OLDER.
WHEREAS, the City Council of St. Louis Park adopted Resolution
Number 5376 on October 6, 1975 relating to deferment of special assess-
ments for persons 65 years of age or older pursuant to M.S. 435.193; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Resolution Number 5376, applicants
were deemed eligible for deferment when total household income was
$8,000.00 or less, the person was 65 years of age or older, and owned
homestead property; and
WHEREAS, since the passage of Resolution Number 5376, considerable
inflation has occurred and Social Security benefits have been increased
annually since 1975;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
St. Louis Park that the total household income requirement to be eligi-
ble for special assessment deferments be established at $10,500 or less.
